Orchestra Programs & Camps

For the students who perform well in the Festival, the judges will 'rank' the performers in each festival session.  This list will be sent to the various string camp administrators for them to decide on recruitment and scholarships.  Other summer music camps and/or orchestra programs may or may not request this same list.  It will be available to them, but it is their prerogative whether or not to employ this list for recruitment and scholarships.

website Mountain Springs Music Festival

All chamber music is pre-selected, view & register on their website. All ages and skill levels
Camp Dates: July 18-22, 2022
Location: Waterford School, Sandy UT and online

Mini-Camp (children up to age 13) - July 5-8, 2023
Teen Camp (must be at least 13) - July 10-15, 2023
Idaho's Harriman State Park. 

Students at the retreat are each assigned to a small chamber ensemble (string quartet or trio) where they receive coaching from professional performers and teachers. In addition to string quartets and other small ensembles, all students participate in a chamber orchestra. Students also have the opportunity to attend violin, viola, and cello master classes and participate in fiddling, viola, and cello choirs.

Ages 12-17.  A day camp (9am-1pm)
Daily sectionals with a fantastic coach.  String students who are playing at ASTA levels 3-4 and are comfortable with shifting and vibrato will be a good fit for this program. Suzuki books 4-7 or Barber books 2-3).
