Orchestra Programs & Camps

For the students who perform well in the Festival, the judges will 'rank' the performers in each festival session.  This list will be sent to the various string camp administrators for them to decide on recruitment and scholarships.  Other summer music camps and/or orchestra programs may or may not request this same list.  It will be available to them, but it is their prerogative whether or not to employ this list for recruitment and scholarships.

FIVE orchestra levels including Adult Beginning Orchestra and a Suzuki Book One Orchestra, ages 1-9; plus Youth Chorus with Dr. Murphy, six enrichment classes, older sibs and parent players invited this year.

Lowest tuition rates, tried and true lovable coaches, proves to be an unforgettable experience this year.

This year Orchestra A plays Beethoven's 7th Symphony, Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantasy on a Theme by Tallis. Orchestra B plays Saint Saens' Bacchanale, Avengers and Handel's Concerto Grosso.

Ages 7-21. World-renowned violist and violinist, Mick and Stacy Wetzel, join the Festival’s world-class faculty to prepare a professional concert at the Utah Symphony’s own Abravanel Hall. Based on audition participants are placed in one of three ensembles. See Admissions page for full details on which ensemble is right for you.

Mini-Camp (children up to age 13) - July 8-11, 2020
Teen Camp (must be at least 13) - July 13-18, 2020
Idaho's Harriman State Park. 

Offering multiple partial-tuition scholarships.
2020 Teen Camp tuition $695 by April 30 then $750 until May 31. After May 31, $800.

New Mini-Camp tuition $325 for first participant in given family; $300 for each additional participant in immediate family. Room and Board - $108.00 per person/bed -This is the total cost for three nights and nine meals.

Each student participates in a small ensemble (quartet or quintet), string chamber orchestra, and a fiddling ensemble.  Private lessons also available. 

Ages 12-18.  A day camp (9am-1pm)
Daily sectionals with a fantastic coach.  String students who are playing at ASTA levels 3-4 and are comfortable with shifting and vibrato will be a good fit for this program. Suzuki books 4-7 or Barber books 2-3).
